I'm Adeel.

I enjoy building systems and growing the teams that operate them.

I'm based in Melbourne, Australia, with around 20 years of technology experience. My work has grown from hands-on infrastructure and cloud engineering into platform engineering, SRE, and engineering leadership.

I've helped operate high-volume transaction enrichment services, establish SRE practices, and grow a Platform Engineering capability from around one engineer to seven. I've stayed technically involved as the team's scope has grown.

That means looking at how an architectural decision affects the people deploying a service, the customer waiting for a response, and the engineer responding when something breaks.

What I write about

Production reliability, cloud cost, API performance, engineering leadership, and the lessons that emerge when assumptions meet operational reality.

I'm also building hands-on experience with AI infrastructure, starting with local model inference on Apple Silicon. I'll write about that work as it develops.
